Hello guys. So here is my latest lens review video. And today it will be all about the Canon RF 24-70mm F/2.8L IS USM for Canon mirrorless cameras. I will be
The Canon RF 28-70mm F2L USM is a professional-level lens with the RF mount, which means itβs designed for use on mirrorless cameras like the full-frame Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6, as well as the older EOS R and EOS RP. A 24-70mm f/2.8 lens is often the go-to standard zoom lens for professional photographers, so the Canon RF 28-70mm F2L
The Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Lens completes the trio of Canon RF f/2.8 zoom lenses to hit the streets. This lens along with the Canon RF 15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM Lens and the Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM Lens are often referred to as the trinity of essential lenses for most pro and serious amateur kits.
The sharpness tests for this review were carried out using a real-world subject rather than a test chart. The Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM lens was attached to a Canon EOS RP body, which in turn was mounted on a sturdy tripod. Self-timer mode was activated. Slight tonal changes are due to slight changes in natural light during the session.
But, I would disagree on the 24-70mm range mainly because of the cost difference. This is my personal bias, but the RF 24-70mm f/2.8 is almost the cost of the 28-70mm f/2, which is a substantially better lens, and isn't that much of an improvement over the EF version. If I had to have this range, I would never by the RF 24-70mm at that price.
The Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 USM L IS produces only slight image distortions - for a mirrorless lens anyway. In uncorrected images, you may be able to spot a slight barrel distortion (1.2%) at 70mm. In the medium to upper zoom range, they are changing to pincushion type.
