Remote start is a technologically advanced capability first widely offered by GM in 2003. These systems allow a driver to start their vehicle from anywhere within a certain range by using a special key FOB or mobile app. Once activated, the car will automatically run for a pre-determined amount of time, usually 10 or 15 minutes.
Kind of disappointing. The a6 C5 does have the ability to change the software code for every control module that VCDS can communicate with. But for some odd reason, I have never seen a forum that talks specifically about the C5 codes. For the red engineering menu it's: NAV/MAP (or CAR) + MEDIA. Note: first press NAV/MAP (or CAR) and then press the second button (MEDIA/RADIO). Hold both for about five seconds and then let go.
